Earth Day celebration - today April 20!

Tuesday, April 20, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.on the main campus in Suffern. Schedule (in the event of rain, program will be moved into the Fieldhouse):
9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Amphitheater Courtyard
Live music, wildlife habitat tours, and a variety of green and environmental groups/vendors will distribute information and answer questions (including automakers and their cars).
9:15 - 10:00 a.m., Student Union, Rm 3214
“Green Schools – It’s Not Just a Color” by Kerri Scales, Education Coordinator, Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority
We spend a lot of time in school. Shouldn’t it be a place of eco-stewardship? Learn how green schools can help you grow – as people that is – so you can take your place as the next generation of planetary care takers.

“Flare for Solar” by Tom O’Reilly, solar engineer
A salute to Earth Day with some history, which includes the struggle of clean renewable energy: solar vs. conventional energy – oil, coal and nuclear.

Rizzo’s Reptile Show
Reptiles–you love ‘em or hate ‘em but most don’t understand them or their importance to the environment. Come experience the rapture of the reptile up close and personal.
Noon - 1:00 p.m., Amphitheater Courtyard
Lunch available for purchase prepared by the RCC Hospitality Program ($5/plate). All proceeds will go to an environmental scholarship and a local environmental organization
12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Student Union Rm 3114
Birds of Prey – Watch these magnificent creatures perform their aerial acrobatic flight for survival. Learn about their fragile life and what you can do to help.

I wish I was there! Went with the kids a few years ago and it was awsome! Then birds of pray - today reptiles!! Have fun!
