Oysters do the work in NY Harbour

TED - “a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading” has a great website with talks doing just that. Here I listened to Majora Carter for the first time (on greening the ghetto and local eco-activism for example) and now I visit the site now and then. The TED talks always have something interesting or unexpected. Today I stumbled on architect Kate Orff´s talk  ”Reviving New York’s rivers - with oysters!” See it for yourself here.

The Locavore Challenge is set up as a personal challenge for individuals to make a commitment to eat only locally and sustainably produced food during the month of September.

We are looking for a new group that would like to learn more about the sustainable and not-so-sustainable stuff that is going in Rockland County, want to get into learning Word Press, twitter and make this page alive and kicking again.

Green Map, this one or a new one, can be a great school or community project. Read up on how it works on www.greenmap.org and send us an email!
