Rockland Green Map is a partner with Clean Air NY. This partnership works like a liason between our community and with the non for profit organization Clean Air NY. The overall goal is that we together can improve the air quality, and  our health, in the New York metro area. As part of our agreement we post on our website when Air Quality Action Days are scheduled (as determined by weather and ground level ozone forcasts; read more here), and we display their information when we give presentations. We also hope that the links below will give answers to “green driving” and also find car pool information.

Individual easy steps to reduce air pollution:

  • - combine trips to drive less; aviod idling
  • - leave the car and use alternatives: legs, bike, bus, train
  • - maintain your car (the right air pressure in your tire counts!)
  • - make gas station visits after sun down and avoid topping off the tank

Some of these steps are extra important during Air Quality Action Days when children, elderly and people with asthma are extra vulnerable. Read more…

Commute and carpool information:

  • - work from home sometimes if you can
  • - car pool with a friend or find a ride here
